A Hungarian guest singer joined Bring Me The Horizon on stage at Sziget Festival

Barni Kokai, frontman of Budapest deathcore band The Southern Oracle, joined Bring Me The Horizon onstage at Sziget Festival on August 14 to perform 'Pray For Plagues,' a track from the band's 2006 debut album, Count Your Blessings. It marked the song's live debut on the band's current run of shows, coming two-thirds of the way through their headline set on the festival's main stage.

The set built around a highly conceptual show featuring an onstage avatar called Eve, who warned of an impending apocalypse and asked for a volunteer from the crowd, saying the fate of humanity "rests in this human's hands." Frontman Oli Sykes spotted Kokai moving toward the front of the crowd and called him up, telling the audience he was "already halfway here," apparently without realizing Kokai fronts a metal band of his own.

The Southern Oracle formed in Szeged, Hungary, in 2009, originally under the name Slaughter At The Engagement Party, and have released six albums. Their most recent, HUNT WHAT YOU FEAR, came out in December 2025. The band's drummer, Balint Milei, posted about the moment on Instagram afterward, calling it a proud night for the group.

Bring Me The Horizon's Sziget set leaned heavily on pyro, with the band performing on podiums covered in red velvet while video screens superimposed a demonic face onto Sykes and members of the crowd. The night also included the tour debut of 'Dehumanized' alongside 'Pray For Plagues,' both signs of how deep the band dug into a heavier register for the show.

The appearance continues a stretch in which Bring Me The Horizon have leaned back into their metal roots, including two full performances of Count Your Blessings at Manchester's BEC Arena last month, one of them the album's first full live performance, and a re-recorded version of the album released in June. Sykes has said the goal was for the redo to be "the best version of what it sounded like in 2006."
