A stalker threatened Roc Nation label chief Desiree Perez outside its Manhattan offices

Desiree Perez, the CEO of Roc Nation, was confronted by a man who threatened to kill her outside the label's West 26th Street headquarters in Chelsea, Manhattan, around 7:30pm on Monday, AllHipHop and HotNewHipHop reported. "You are going to die," the man reportedly told her, according to the New York Post.

Law enforcement sources say the threats did not start with the confrontation. The same individual, tentatively identified as an unhoused man familiar to police in Manhattan and the Bronx, has reportedly appeared near Roc Nation's offices on several occasions since May, along with social media posts and song lyrics attributed to him containing hostile messages aimed at Perez and the company.

As of the reports, NYPD had not made an arrest and had not said publicly whether it had added any protective measures at the Chelsea office. Officers were still trying to locate the man to question him about the threats.

Perez co-founded Roc Nation with Jay-Z and became its CEO in 2019, expanding the company beyond music management. Her production credits include work with Alicia Keys, Megan Thee Stallion and Lil Uzi Vert, according to AllHipHop.

She has also helped run the label's collaboration with the NFL since 2019, including coordination of the Super Bowl halftime show, and became the first executive producer to win an Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special (Live) for that work.

No arrest had been made as of the reports, part of a busy stretch of hip-hop business news.
