ADELA premieres a new song called Boys during her Reading festival set

The Slovakian-born pop singer introduced the track as a night out with friends interrupted by unwanted attention.

ADELA

ADELA aired a new song called Boys for the first time during her Reading 2026 set over the bank holiday weekend. She introduced it from the stage with a one-line explanation of what it is about, calling it "basically about being at the club with your girls and getting bothered by boys."

The song sat third in a set that also carried Ain't In LA and Sex On The Beat. Her running order on the day was KGB, FinallyApologizing, Boys, Go, DeathByDevotion, Ain't in LA, Red Bottoms and Marijuana, which is a short festival slot with one unreleased song planted in the middle of it.

Before Ain't In LA, her most recent single, she talked to the crowd about growing up in Slovakia and about the distance between where she started and a main-stage festival slot in England. She said she had always wanted to be a pop star on a stage like that one and had thought it was out of reach, and framed the song as one written for people from small places.

She also read the crowd correctly. Reading falls right after GCSE results in England, and a large share of the field is teenagers marking the end of exams, which ADELA acknowledged from the stage before Sex On The Beat.

For a pop act still building a catalogue, a festival premiere is a cheap and unusually honest test: no studio, no rollout, just whether a field of people who have never heard the song stay with it. Reading's own weekend produced plenty of other moments, from Royal Blood's secret set to the licensing fight over the festival's bid to extend its Thursday music hours. Everything else booked this season sits on the festival tracker.
