Amyl and the Sniffers line up a concert film and live album, both Truth Or Consequence

Amyl and the Sniffers have confirmed a country concert film called Truth Or Consequence, paired with a live album of the same name, The Line of Best Fit and NME reported on August 4. Both capture a one-off performance last year at the El Coyote Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles, where the Australian rock band reworked their songs into stripped-back country versions.

The set included two unreleased songs and a cover of Slim Dusty's 1972 single "Lights On The Hill" alongside fan favorites, and NME describes the film as "intimate, loose and full of fun" while showing the band in a way audiences have not seen before. Directed by John Angus Stewart, it is interspersed with candid behind-the-scenes moments. "The hope for this record is that it is listened to as it was made, in a ruckus exclamation between a cherished group of friends," the band said in a statement.

The film screens in select cities across Australia, Europe, the UK, Ireland and South America starting August 25, while the live album arrives on vinyl and streaming on September 4 via Rough Trade Records, joining the rest of the season's releases at the release calendar.

It follows the band's third and most recent studio album, "Cartoon Darkness," released in 2024. Last year brought their biggest headline show yet at London's Alexandra Palace, a set on Glastonbury's Other Stage, a support slot for Fontaines D.C. at Finsbury Park, and an appearance at Reading & Leeds. Frontwoman Amy Taylor also contributed an original song, "Nobody's Son," to the Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man soundtrack earlier this year.

Amyl and the Sniffers play UK and European festival dates this month, including All Points East presents Outbreak in London, supporting Deftones, and Bristol's Forwards Festival.
