Ari Lennox has released a new single, "Hookah Baby," the first preview of Vacancy: Late Checkout, a deluxe edition of her acclaimed third album Vacancy, which came out in January.
On the track, Lennox sings about a club night she doesn't want to end: "I don't wanna leave 'cause they playin' my song... Said pass the hookah, baby." She co-wrote it with Alivia Blue, with Tommy "TBHits" Brown and Leather Jacket producing.
Lennox ended her Vacancy Tour in June before turning to this deluxe rollout. She is keeping the tracklist and release date under wraps for now, but has shared the cover art, a topless photograph of herself with her arm covering her chest.
SoulBounce described the rest of the song's opening verse as Lennox and her friends soaking up a night out, unwilling to leave despite insisting otherwise. The cover image is credited to Interscope Records, her label for the release.
SoulBounce reports no further detail yet on Vacancy: Late Checkout beyond the single and cover art. The rollout keeps Lennox's profile high in R&B and soul between album cycles.
