Ashley Cooke has lined up an acoustic pop-up tour for August called The Cities That Made Me Tour, MusicRow reported on August 6. The run is tied to her album release, with shows built around unplugged sets in each city.
The route traces her own biography: shows begin at home in Nashville on August 14, the album's release day, before moving to Milwaukee, her birthplace, then Pleasanton and Studio City, representing her California upbringing, then Sarasota and Parkland from her Florida years, and finally West Lafayette, Indiana, where her parents first met.
Cooke described the tour's purpose in her own words: "This album was built on the memories and moments that shaped me into who I am," she wrote on social media, "and I couldn't think of a better way to spend release week than taking a trip down memory lane with you." She called the cities part of the story of her career so far.
The pop-up run previews her upcoming "the baby blues world tour," a global headlining run that launches September 17 at Globe Iron in Cleveland, and follows last month's singles "famous to frances" and "johnny 'n june," both produced by Dann Huff.
