Singer-songwriter Audrey Hobert has released an NPR Tiny Desk Concert, performing "Thirst Trap," "Sue Me" and other songs from her debut album, Who's the Clown?, Pitchfork reported on August 13. Before playing "Phoebe," a song named for the Friends character, Hobert explained her limited viewing of the show: "I've seen all but one and a half seasons. I saw what I needed to see, got what I needed, and I wrote the song."
Hobert was previously best known for co-writing "That's So True" with her childhood best friend Gracie Abrams before releasing Who's the Clown? nearly a year ago. Since then, her profile has risen quickly: she has drawn large crowds at Governors Ball and Lollapalooza, sold out two North American tours, and released self-directed videos for her songs "Silver Jubilee" and "Sex and the City."
Who's the Clown? placed at No. 20 in Pitchfork's list of the best pop albums of 2025.
