Barry Manilow pauses Las Vegas residency

Barry Manilow is taking a break from his Las Vegas residency at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino after canceling three shows this month, the singer announced on Instagram this week. "We're going to take a break until we return to the Westgate Las Vegas on October 8th," Manilow told fans, adding that he expects to be "singing like a bird" by then.

The pause follows a summer arena tour Manilow called a success but an exhausting one: 29 shows in 68 days. "It seems that we were pushing a little too hard," he said, framing the hiatus as recovery time rather than a medical emergency for the veteran pop singer. His team said new Westgate dates would be announced the following week.

The announcement came days after Manilow scrapped his Friday and Saturday Westgate performances, citing "technical and vocal" issues, and after he cut short a concert in Lexington, Kentucky, just before it began, blaming "unforeseen circumstances." Some fans online voiced frustration with the short-notice cancellations, while others expressed concern for the singer's health.

This is not Manilow's first interruption of the year. He was diagnosed with lung cancer late last year and postponed a string of dates for surgery, then returned to the road in June behind "What a Time," his first album of new material in nearly 15 years.

For now, the Westgate dates through late September remain off the calendar. The cancellation joins a string of veteran-artist tour disruptions this year, including Frankie Valli calling off his remaining 2026 dates and Live Nation pulling the plug on Roxette's 40th anniversary tour.
