Beaks announces the first album ALDIE with the single little silver

Anna Francesca made the Vienna project's debut with Markus Windisch during a turbulent stretch; dottidot releases it in November.

Beaks Anna Francesca

Beaks has announced ALDIE, the first album under the name, and released a new single called "little silver".

The project belongs to Anna Francesca, a Vienna-based experimental post-punk artist and writer. The album was made during what she describes as a period of personal turbulence, and produced in collaboration with a close friend, Markus Windisch.

"little silver" follows "TY (robbed the bank)", released the previous month. The new song pulls two references together, taking from Pete Doherty's "A Little Death Around the Eyes" and Nirvana's "Sliver", and Francesca has described it as a letter to herself.

The album is set up around the space between dreaming and being awake, and the writing moves between indie, pop, punk and electronic arrangements rather than settling on one. That range is what the two singles have shown so far, since neither sounds much like the other.

ALDIE is out in November via dottidot. It sits at the more experimental end of indie and rock, and joins the release calendar for the autumn.
