Benjiflow released Tears In The Club on 28 August, his first single since Standing Here in May and the second piece of a debut album expected this autumn.
The North London musician works from melody and rhythm outward, pulling on modern soul and grime at one end and Alte inflections and slinky electronics at the other. It is a palette assembled rather than inherited, and it has kept him hard to file since he started releasing music.
He quit his job in 2018 to do this full-time, and built a career outside the major-label system rather than through it.
