Billy Strings has confirmed the dates for his 2027 Winter Tour, ten shows across three cities in February that finish at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The announcement arrives alongside his new album, So Much For Goodbyes, and the launch of his own festival.
Asheville, North Carolina takes the largest share. He plays five nights at ExploreAsheville.com Arena from February 4 to February 9, with a day off on the 7th, which is a residency in everything but name for a city still rebuilding after the floods. From there he moves to Gas South Arena in Duluth, Georgia for February 12 and 13.
The run closes in his adopted hometown. The Michigan native plays Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on February 19 and 20 before finishing at the Ryman on February 21, a room that seats a fraction of what the arena does.
The Ryman is not a casual booking for him. Strings made his debut there on June 28, 2018 and has played ten more shows in the building since, most recently last September, when he performed two nights with Bryan Sutton. Access to the closing night is tied to the arena dates: fans have to buy a Bridgestone ticket first to be eligible for a chance at Ryman tickets, which is a blunt way of protecting a small room from resale.
Tickets for the new dates go on sale on Friday, September 11 at 10am local time.
The announcement landed while he was headlining the first Ionia Freak Fair in Ionia, Michigan on August 28 and 29, on a bill with Greensky Bluegrass and Leftover Salmon, with sets streamed for nugs subscribers. The dates are filed under country and sit on the tour guide. We covered him sitting in with a bar band in West Virginia on a night off, and playing in protective headgear after an object was thrown at him onstage.
