Bleech 9:3 have released "Figure 8," their first new music since their self-titled debut EP arrived in May. The Irish quartet's rapid rise has continued alongside the release, with their upcoming headline tour already sold out across most dates.
"Figure 8" has already been a favorite of the band's live sets, and pushes further into the 00s-inflected alt-rock sound the group established on its debut EP. The track was produced by Dan Carey, known for his work with Fontaines D.C., Wet Leg, Squid and black midi, and for a searing guitar tone and acerbic, rock-focused approach.
Frontman Baz described the song as more emotionally raw than its title suggests. "Figure 8 is the product of crying quietly so your flatmates don't hear you," he said.
Bleech 9:3 will join Wunderhorse for support slots in Ireland this week before heading into a run of festival dates including Reading, Leeds, Electric Picnic and Iceland Airwaves, followed by a headline tour running into December that has sold out most of its UK and European dates.
"Figure 8" extends a breakout year for the band, adding to the run of new rock releases tracked on the release calendar.
