BlocBoy JB released Free Agent, a 16-track album, on August 7, HotNewHipHop reported. The project follows the death of his best friend and longtime producer Tay Keith, and it carries a dedicated tribute track, 'LLTK.'
HotNewHipHop calls it some of BlocBoy's most focused work after a decade in the game, crediting him with honoring his friend's memory while still delivering the hit-making instincts that made his name. Features on the album include HoodRich Pablo Juan, Blocnation CB, Shootervine Head, Dbloc DaDon and EA.
The tribute has been building for weeks: BlocBoy paid respects to Tay Keith alongside Future in early July, then released 'LLTK' as a standalone single on July 25 before folding the song into Free Agent as its second-to-last track, placed just ahead of the closer, '1 Take.'
Free Agent is now part of the release calendar for August, filed under hip-hop.
