Bruce Springsteen will headline the Stand Up For Heroes benefit concert in New York

Bruce Springsteen will headline the Stand Up For Heroes veterans benefit show at David Geffen Hall at New York's Lincoln Center on November 9, marking the 20th anniversary of the fundraiser held in connection with the New York Comedy Festival.

Also on the bill are "Ordinary" star Alex Warren and The Resilient, a band made up primarily of severely wounded US combat veterans, alongside comedy sets from Jon Stewart, Hasan Minhaj and The Daily Show's Josh Johnson. Stand Up For Heroes launched in 2006 and held its first major event the following year; over two decades it has raised $117 million for veterans, service members and their families.

"Twenty years ago, we put together Stand Up For Heroes with a simple idea: bring people together with laughter and music in honour of those who have sacrificed so much for our country," said Bob Woodruff, the ABC News correspondent who co-founded the event. He added that the show ensures "men and women serving today will not be left behind tomorrow."

Springsteen has appeared at the benefit multiple times before, including in 2023, when he played "Addicted To Romance" live for the first time and joined John Mellencamp for "Wasted Days." The appearance comes after his "Land Of Hope And Dreams" tour wrapped in Philadelphia in May, a run shaped by his public criticism of the Trump administration, and after a July surprise appearance during Bon Jovi's Madison Square Garden show.

The rock legend also revealed earlier this month that his wife and E Street Band bandmate Patti Scialfa is now in remission from the multiple myeloma she has lived with for over eight years. The November 9 show adds another date to the tour guide heading into the fall benefit season.
