Can shared a second preview from their forthcoming live album "Live In Arles 1975," the track "Arles 75 Sechs." Details of the record were first announced in June alongside an earlier extract, "Arles 75 Drei," and the full album arrives September 25 via Mute / Future Days.
The recording comes from a fan-captured tape of a hot August night in 1975, when Can played the Roman amphitheatre Theatre Antique d'Arles in the south of France.
Irmin Schmidt recalled the show as one that stood out even decades later. "I remember a very beautiful atmosphere," he said. "It was a summer night in the South of France, everybody was stoned and the atmosphere was very special."
The performance features the band's core lineup of the period: Schmidt, Jaki Liebezeit, Michael Karoli and Holger Czukay.
Sleeve notes for the release carry recollections of the show from two fans who were there, including author and journalist Pascal Bussy, along with a translated French magazine article from the time.
"Live In Arles 1975" lands in the release calendar among the rest of September's new rock releases from Can.
