Celine Dion climbs on a car outside her hotel and sings to Paris

Celine Dion finished the third night of her Paris residency, left the arena, and found a crowd waiting outside her hotel. What happened next was not on any schedule.

The singer took off her shoes, climbed onto a parked car and sat barefoot on it, then started moving to Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore, her French-language single from 1995. According to PEOPLE, cited by That Grape Juice, the crowd around her supplied the chorus while Dion conducted them, clapped, laughed and flashed a hand heart before going inside.

The concert that preceded it was at Plenitude Arena on 18 September, the third of a 26-show engagement. The run opened on 12 September with what was her first complete live concert in more than six years.

That gap is the reason a street singalong counts as news. Dion's career paused with the pandemic and then stayed paused after she disclosed a stiff-person syndrome diagnosis in 2022, a neurological condition that stiffens muscles and can take direct control of the voice away from a singer. She has since gone through physical and vocal therapy, immunotherapy and other treatment to get back to a stage at all.

Set against that, the detail worth noticing is not the car or the bare feet. It is that after a full concert she had enough left to keep singing in the street, which is a different kind of evidence about her condition than any interview could provide.
