Colt Ford broke his shoulder when his tour bus crashed in Germany on August 12 while he and his crew were headed to a show, and his team at Average Joes Entertainment postponed a string of upcoming dates so he could have surgery and recover, Taste of Country and Country Now reported.
Ford was on his way to a show when the crash happened. "Your bus is in the ditch and you're getting pulled through a windshield with a broken shoulder by first responders," he wrote on social media, adding that his crew was "a little banged up but we're all still here."
Ford still played a previously booked show at Tailgate X in Ballenstedt, Germany on August 15, three days after the crash, before his team confirmed he underwent shoulder surgery that went well. "Colt is now focused on resting, recovering, and getting back to doing what he loves," the team's statement said.
Five shows were postponed as a result: August 19 in Des Moines, Iowa; August 21 in LaGrange, Georgia; August 22 in Athens, Georgia; August 27 in Nashville; and August 29 in Altamont, Illinois. Ford is currently scheduled to return to the road September 4 at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee.
Artists including George Birge, LoCash and Meghan Patrick sent well wishes within 30 minutes of the news breaking, Taste of Country reported. The crash is the latest in a run of health setbacks for the country rapper, who survived a near-fatal heart attack in April 2024 and has since lost more than 60 pounds; he had already returned to touring and recently released the single "Fake Redneck."
