Music Business Worldwide reported on August 4 that Vicky Dowdall has joined RARE Entity as Partner, Business Development. The venture group was co-founded by Eurythmics musician Dave Stewart, and the move puts the artist manager and entrepreneur on its leadership team, where she will work with creators, founders, rights holders and strategic partners to turn ideas and intellectual property into businesses.
Dowdall has managed artists including Nina Nesbitt, Ella Henderson, Cody Frost and Olivia Sebastianelli. As Nesbitt's longtime manager, she helped build an independent career around ownership of her work, including a No. 1 debut in Scotland for the 2014 album Peroxide, and later co-founded Apple Tree Records with Nesbitt to give artists more creative freedom. She also sits on the board of the Music Managers Forum.
"She understands how to turn talent into sustainable businesses through trust, long-term thinking and meaningful partnerships. That's exactly the mindset we're building at Rare," RARE Entity co-founder Dom Joseph said of Dowdall's hire. Dowdall said she has "always been drawn to building, whether that's careers, businesses or partnerships that create long-term value," and that she wants to "help IP creators unlock new opportunities and build businesses with lasting impact."
RARE Entity launched in January 2026, founded by Stewart alongside Dom Joseph, the former CEO of Captify, and Rich Britton, a former Coca-Cola and Apple executive. In June, the venture group acquired a stake in the livestreaming platform Lounges.tv, which is backed by Simon Cowell. Its wider team includes Stewart's fellow partner Arnon Woolfson, filmmaker Jonas Åkerlund and strategic partner Korda Marshall.
Stewart's own catalog with Eurythmics, the duo he formed with Annie Lennox, is estimated at more than 100 million records sold, and this fits alongside our pop coverage.
