Destin Conrad shares the single FAVORITE LOVER before his album ROADRUNNER

Destin Conrad put out "FAVORITE LOVER" and its video together on 20 August 2026, the last single before ROADRUNNER, his third album, arrived the following day. SoulBounce covered the release and framed the whole rollout as the Grammy-nominated R&B singer moving toward reggae and closer to his Jamaican background.

The song is built for that: bass-heavy, flirtatious, and clear about its own terms. Conrad sings to someone he wants a good time with rather than a long one, and then spends the hook thinking about it afterwards anyway, turning over what she could have been. The gap between the intention and the aftermath is the whole song.

It is the third single from the record, following "NERVOUS" and "I LOVE YOUR BODY." Across the three, the rollout has traced the same shift: an R&B artist working in dancehall rhythm rather than borrowing an accent for a chorus.

The video, directed by Filmaica, goes to Jamaica and stays there. Conrad appears in an unnamed spot surrounded by dense greenery, dressed in a bright outfit and holding a chicken. From there it wanders: a walk along a beach with swimmers in the clear water behind him, a rowboat with a couple sitting behind him, more solo shots. There is no love interest in it at all, which for a song about a hookup is a choice.
