The Americana Music Association will present Dolly Parton with its lifetime achievement award this year, MusicRow reported on August 6.
The honor comes in a busy year for Dolly Parton in our own coverage: she recently missed a scheduled appearance at Dollywood over health problems, and no charges were filed against the man who defaced a mural of her earlier in the year.

Americana Music Association executive director Jed Hilly framed the honor around Parton's songwriting: "With all of her extraordinary accomplishments," he said, "our desire is to honor Dolly for what has always been at the heart of her legacy: a definitive songwriter and artist..." Her catalog includes "Coat of Many Colors," "Jolene," "I Will Always Love You" and "My Tennessee Mountain Home."
The 2026 Americana Honors & Awards ceremony, where Parton will accept the award via video, takes place at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium during AMERICANAFEST on September 16. The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes careers with an enduring impact on American roots music; Parton has spent more than six decades as an entertainer, actress, author, entrepreneur and philanthropist.
