Elastica's self-titled 1995 debut album is getting an expanded deluxe reissue, set for release October 2 via Rough Trade, The Quietus reported. The new edition adds B-sides and rarities from the era of the record's original release to the 15 tracks that appeared on the original UK version, and will be available across double vinyl, CD, cassette and digital formats.
The vinyl edition includes a poster recreated from the band's own archive of the original advert for the album, and early LP pre-orders come with a limited flexi disc of the song "Cleopatra" dating back to 1995. Elastica was originally released through Deceptive Records, but Rough Trade has since taken over stewardship of the band's catalogue in collaboration with the group.
"We're proud of this record and everything it represents," the band said in a joint statement, calling the album's original 1995 release a defining moment and adding that seeing the songs still resonate with people 30 years on means a great deal to them. The album originally featured singles "Line Up," "Waking Up" and "Connection."
The announcement follows a teaser of new activity from the band on Instagram last month, and the October 2 reissue, now logged on the release calendar, arrives roughly three decades after the album's original release, giving both longtime fans and newer listeners a fuller look at the record's era.
