Erykah Badu and the Alchemist have released a new song, Witch Doctor, HotNewHipHop reported on August 14. The track runs nearly six and a half minutes, giving Badu room to play with the idea of a witch as a medium over Alchemist's soulful, percussion-heavy production.

The song leans on pop-culture witch references throughout, invoking Tabitha and Samantha, the witches of the sitcom Bewitched, as Badu repeats the song's core idea: "'Cause a witch is just a medium."

Witch Doctor follows the pair's earlier single Next To You and previews their currently untitled collaborative album, which HotNewHipHop reports was recorded over 18 months between Dallas and Los Angeles and is due out August 28. The project reportedly moves across soul, blues, funk, rock, jazz and underground hip-hop.

The single arrives shortly after Badu and the Alchemist confirmed the album itself, then reported as a 17-track record set for August, building toward the full release later this month.
