Famous Dex, born Dexter Gore, was arrested on a domestic battery charge, and the alleged victim has since described her injuries publicly. According to a TMZ report, the Chicago hip-hop artist was arrested Sunday, Aug. 23, in Las Vegas, and as of this week remained in custody at a Las Vegas jail.
Following the arrest, the alleged victim, Pamalla Rodriguez, posted photos to her Instagram account showing injuries she said she suffered in the incident, along with a document listing the charge as "Battery/Domestic Violence." She also shared a GoFundMe link seeking donations for medical and legal expenses.
"I've been quiet while processing everything that happened, but I'm finally ready to share MY experience and MY truth," she wrote, adding that she wanted her account to serve as "a warning to other women." She said the alleged assault began days before the arrest and that she declined a request to misrepresent what had happened.
The arrest marks a setback for Famous Dex, who according to TMZ was 11 months into his sobriety and had reportedly been working on a new project with Rich The Kid and Jay Critch. XXL reported it had reached out to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for comment.
