flowerovlove has confirmed her debut album, Mini Skirt Warrior, arriving August 28 via Capitol Records, DIY reports. The announcement follows months of standalone singles including "Casual Lady," "American Wedding" and "In My Victoria's Secret," and comes with a new track, "Kiss Kiss Kiss," written with Skyler Stonestreet and Pom Pom and paired with a one-take video co-starring rapper 24kGoldn.
The album title, she says, is named for "the protective, transformative power of clothes," especially during the shift from girlhood to womanhood, and the record is billed as a candid account of coming of age in the present day. "A lot of this album is based on first times," flowerovlove said of the record's throughline, pointing to first loves, first heartbreaks and first moments of self-recognition.
flowerovlove is a member of DIY's Class of 2023, a distinction the outlet gives to acts it flags early as ones to watch, and Mini Skirt Warrior arrives as the payoff to that early attention with her first full-length statement.
The album lands just before she heads out on an autumn arena tour opening for Niall Horan across the UK and Europe, with dates including two nights at London's O2 Arena on October 2 and 3, and shows spanning Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Amsterdam and Dublin through mid-November.
Mini Skirt Warrior joins the rest of the year's pop releases tracked in the release calendar, with the full run of arena dates listed in the tour guide.
