FLVCKKA is one of the artists in YouTube's Foundry class of 2026, and Remezcla picked them out of the roster as the name worth watching. The programme has supported more than 250 independent musicians since it began in 2015, and selection brings a grant, direct support from YouTube, access to the platform's products and marketing help.
FLVCKKA is from Chihuahua and made their mark after moving to Mexico City. The labels they use for their own work are hypercorridos and neobuchonismo, which are not established genre names so much as a description of what happens when trap, drill, corridos and hyperpop get pushed into the same track.
The guest list backs that up. FLVCKKA has recorded with Chino Pacas, Yeri Mua, Cachirula, Iza tkm and Marcos Villalobos, a spread that runs from corridos tumbados to reggaeton-adjacent pop. Artists rarely get that kind of range of features unless other acts think the sound travels.
Regional mexicano has been the fastest-growing export in Latin music for several years, and the argument Remezcla makes is that the genre's next phase is already under way inside it. Corridos artists have been folding dembow into their records for a while. What FLVCKKA does is widen that further, into hyperpop textures and drill rhythms, which moves the music away from the acoustic bajo sexto and tuba palette the genre is known for.
The class of 2026 is larger than FLVCKKA alone. Sixteen more independent musicians joined a group YouTube first announced in June with 24 names on it. Other Latine acts on the list include Hamilton, Rainao, MC Luanna, Amanda Magalhaes and Franco, The Sir!
The roster is also more Brazilian and more Iberian than the phrase regional mexicano suggests. KEVIS Y MAYYKI, a young Mexican duo working in throwback hip-hop, are on it, along with the Brazilian singer-songwriter Jose Jr., the sibling pop act Mariasss and the Spanish afrobeats artist Yapi.
Programmes like Foundry matter most to acts who have no label structure behind them, because the support is operational rather than promotional: product access and marketing budget are the two things an independent artist cannot buy at scale. Whether that translates into a career is a separate question, and one the 250 alumni answer in every direction.
