The band come from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and the summer has been a steady drip of songs from them. "good and bad" arrived first, then "risking heaven," and Stereogum has been posting each one as it lands, describing the band as indie deconstructionists.
"data master" is a woozy experimental electronic number built on rock foundations, in the post-Spirit Of The Beehive sense, that ends with layered guitars pushed to the front. It is the kind of track that reads as electronic on first pass and as a rock song by the last minute.
Two pieces of local endorsement sit behind the band. They played Justin Vernon's relaunched Eaux Claires festival, which is about as direct a nod as an Eau Claire act can get, and they signed to Angel Tapes, an imprint of Fire Talk.
