Ghost are pairing a new live album, 2 Big To Rig, with an IMAX concert film of the same name, both arriving this week.
The film documents two sold-out shows the band played at Mexico City's Palacio de los Deportes in September 2025, drawing nearly 40,000 fans across the two nights. Both the film and the soundtrack take their title from the band finally retiring its elaborate "Skeletour" world tour, whose sets and equipment had simply gotten too big to haul around.
The Mexico City run wasn't without trouble. A third scheduled show there was canceled after frontman Tobias Forge came down with food poisoning right before it. Forge told Metal Hammer he was fine until show day: "Everything was dandy, and then came the show day. I woke up and felt weird." He said he only got weaker as the hours passed, until he "started puking violently" backstage.
Releasing the film and album together gives fans who held tickets to that canceled show a way to experience what they missed. 2 Big To Rig hits IMAX and regular theaters worldwide on August 26 for a limited run, with the 19-track live soundtrack following a day later via Loma Vista Recordings.
The soundtrack pulls from across Ghost's catalog, including "Cirice," "Mary on a Cross," "Dance Macabre" and "Square Hammer," all recorded live in Mexico City.
