Greensky Bluegrass will start 2027 at home. The band has added January 1 and 2 concerts at Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan, turning a two-night New Year's Run into a four-night one.

The Kalamazoo dates follow December 30 and 31 shows at The Salt Shed in Chicago, a city that last hosted the band for New Year's Eve in 2018.

It is a quick return to Wings Event Center. The quintet played the arena on October 31 and November 1, 2025 for a pair of guest-filled 25th anniversary shows, which was a fitting venue for it: the band traces its start to Kalamazoo, where mandolinist Paul Hoffman, guitarist Dave Bruzza and banjoist Michael Arlen Bont first played together under the name at an impromptu Halloween show in 2000. Bassist Mike Devol joined in 2004 and dobroist Anders Beck came aboard in 2007.

The January shows also revive a holiday habit. Greensky played two nights at the Kalamazoo State Theatre every non-pandemic Thanksgiving weekend from 2017 through 2022, then returned there on December 30 and 31, 2023, their last hometown appearances before the anniversary run.

The announcement lands after another Michigan weekend. The band played the Ionia Freak Fair Eve concert in Grand Rapids, where Billy Strings and Leftover Salmon's Vince Herman sat in, then performed at Strings' inaugural Ionia Freak Fair and joined him during his closing headline set.

A fan club presale is already running, with general tickets going on sale Friday, September 4 at 10am ET. Strings has turned up in our pages plenty this summer, including an unannounced sit-in at a West Virginia bar, and he is not the only act filling the holiday calendar: an all-star Marshall Tucker Band tribute has New Year's Eve in Atlanta. Every announced run sits on the tour guide and the country hub.
