Hit-Boy's album HITStory 2 is now available on streaming services, HotNewHipHop reported. The full title is HITStory 2: Success Is A Dirty Word, and the release completes a rollout that began with an initial June release.
Alongside the sequel, Hit-Boy also put the original HITStory album on streaming for the first time, 14 years after it first came out. HotNewHipHop called HITStory 2 more dramatic and all-encompassing than the original, pointing to it as evidence of his growth as a producer and MC over his career.
The full tracklist runs 17 songs deep, opening with an intro skit before moving through cuts including "Success Is A Dirty Word," "Clash," "Franchise Boy" and "American Pie." Guest spots come from Quavo on "Do It," Dom Kennedy on "Friday," Jazze Pha on "S&V," Chase N. Chase and Johnathan Hulett together on "Stitched Lip," and Ty Dolla $ign and Ab-Soul together on "Doin' A Look," before James Fauntleroy closes things out on "Watch It Come True."
The release lands not long after Hit-Boy confirmed he's out from under his Universal Music contract, a change that frees him to put both HITStory albums out on his own terms.
The album joins the release calendar, MusicSuey's tracker of albums due out or newly arrived this year, and adds to a busy week of hip-hop releases.
