Humble The Great released a new single, "left you," on August 17, Clash reported, calling it an evocative return that lets the London singer-songwriter and producer take the spotlight after months spent shaping other artists' records.
The song opens with a piano instrumental before blending Americana with the London alt-soul sound Humble The Great has built his name on, moving into what Clash described as opaque R&B textures. Its lyrics work through a collapsing relationship, delivered with what the outlet called "tremendous humanity and grace" atop a vocal it praised for its warmth and personality.
Humble The Great received an early co-sign from Elton John and has built a behind-the-scenes career alongside his own music, recently serving as executive producer on Amie Blu's new project and racking up seven songwriting and production credits on Cat Burns' album How To Be Human.
"left you" is out now, one of the week's new pop and R&B and soul arrivals on the release calendar.
