The Inkcarceration Music and Tattoo Festival has announced its 2027 edition, returning to the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio from July 16 through 18, Metal Injection reported. The dates nearly mirror this year's festival, and the venue, a former prison known for its haunting atmosphere and its appearance in The Shawshank Redemption, remains the festival's signature location.
This year's lineup, by comparison, packed the bill with Bad Omens, Limp Bizkit and Disturbed headlining across three days, supported by Entheos, Papa Roach, LANDMVRKS, Lacuna Coil, Gojira, 156/Silence, Fit For A King, Silly Goose and Sanguisugabogg among a roster of 55 bands playing across three stages.
Alongside the music, Inkcarceration also brought in more than 100 tattoo artists working across the festival's three days, a combination that sets it apart from most other metal festivals. The event is co-produced by Danny Wimmer Presents.
Ticket presale for subscribers begins Friday, August 21 at noon EST, followed by general on-sale the following Monday, August 24, also at noon EST. Hotel packages tied to the event are already available.
Every ticket purchase includes a charity fee benefiting the DWP Foundation, which the festival says has distributed more than $2.5 million to over 350 nonprofits. Beneficiaries include the Living The Dream Foundation, the California Fire Foundation, Fund The Arts and Indie Things Possible, with the foundation directing funds to causes in Louisville, Kentucky as well as California, Ohio and Florida.
Organizers have not yet announced the 2027 lineup. Given how closely the new dates track this year's schedule, a formal artist announcement is likely to follow in the coming months, with updates set to appear on the festival tracker.
