Insomnium and Amorphis set a co-headlining North American metal tour

Insomnium and Amorphis are taking a co-headlining tour across North America this autumn, putting two of Finland's longest-running melodic metal bands on the same bill for a month. The run opens at Boston's Paradise Rock Club on 17 November and closes at Irving Plaza in New York on 19 December.

Canada gets three dates. The bands cross the border immediately after Boston for Montreal's Beanfield Theatre on 18 November and Toronto's Concert Hall on 19 November, then return at the end of the month for Vancouver's Rickshaw Theatre on 30 November.

Between those, the routing works through Columbus, Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis, Lincoln, Denver and Salt Lake City in November, then Portland, Seattle, Berkeley, Los Angeles, Mesa, Austin, Dallas, Orlando, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Richmond, Baltimore and Reading through December.

Hinayana support every date. The death-doom band's presence gives the bill a consistent third act rather than rotating local support, which for a co-headline package keeps the running order stable across 25 shows.

Each band arrives at a different point in its cycle. Amorphis are still touring Borderland, which came out in September 2025, while Insomnium will be supporting Netherworlds, an album not due until 16 October. That makes the tour a launch for one band and a continuation for the other.

Tickets go on general sale on 3 September at 10am local time, with presales in selected markets opening the day before. For an audience that has followed both bands since the 1990s, a co-headline booking of this length is the kind of package that only works in metal, where two acts of comparable standing will still share a bill rather than argue over billing.
