Inspectah Deck has released a new album, Dragon's Breath, HotNewHipHop reported on August 7, adding it to the release calendar. The 19-track project came out the same day, built on production the outlet called strong throughout, with Deck's bars staying sharp across the hip-hop record.
The guest list runs deep across the album's 19 tracks: Raekwon, Sauce Money, Skyzoo and D.V. alias Khryst open things up on "Never Fold," while later cuts bring in RJ Payne, Sa-Roc, Che Noir, Flee Lord, Hus KingPin, Bahamadia and dozens more, including Wu-Tang associate Cappadonna on "Possession" alongside Hell Fire and Blue Raspberry.
Two of the album's 19 tracks, "Czariana Grande" and "Explicit Material," pair Deck with the hip-hop group CZARFACE, according to HotNewHipHop's tracklist. Deck raps in CZARFACE alongside producer 7L and rapper Esoteric, and the track "Shaolin Rebel 2," featuring Siah, nods to the Staten Island mythology that has run through Deck's music since his days with Wu-Tang Clan.
HotNewHipHop noted Deck already has a separate CZARFACE album due out later in August, meaning Dragon's Breath is the first of two releases he has coming in quick succession.
The run puts Deck in company with other Wu-Tang-era veterans staying active this month; Rakim, Kurupt and Masta Killa released their own collaborative single, "Goin Down," from their joint album The Godbody, part of a broader wave of veteran rappers leaning on deep guest rosters rather than solo showcases.
