Chicago musician Joe Glass, who plays bass in the live lineup of Sharp Pins, has shared a new song, "It's No Wonder," ahead of an expanded reissue of his solo album Snakewards.
Snakewards originally arrived in January as a cassette on Kai Slater's Hallogallo label. The new edition adds three songs to the original 13-track record, bringing the total to 16, and lands November 13 on LP, CD and cassette through the K Records imprint Perennial. The label describes the collection as "16 scrap-rock sketches straight from the heart to the gut."
The reissue carries contributions beyond Glass's own songwriting and playing: drums from Brennan Pozzi and Warren Glass appear on select tracks, and the record was mastered by Johnny Bell, Amy Dragon and Adam Gonsalves.
Perennial has become something of a home base for the Sharp Pins circle. The label reissued the band's breakthrough album, Radio DDR, in expanded form after Slater originally self-released it on Bandcamp in 2024, and has since put out the band's Turtle Rock and Balloon, Balloon, Balloon as well. Glass's Snakewards reissue extends that relationship to his solo work.
"It's No Wonder" arrives as the second-to-last track on the expanded record's B-side, alongside a companion video directed by Jolie M-A, giving listeners an early preview of the rock songs Perennial is adding to the original release.
