Jon Batiste has placed a portion of his summer touring on hold as he "navigate[s] some personal circumstances," according to a statement the Grammy winner shared through Connecticut's Westville Music Bowl festival. The New Haven festival published the statement on Wednesday, confirming Batiste had canceled his appearance there along with two other shows.

The notice did not specify every canceled date, but People reported that Batiste's shows in Pennsylvania and New York were also called off, with ticket refunds available for all three canceled performances. "My team and I are finding new ways and opportunities to share live music with you," Batiste said in the statement. "There's so much more to come, and I'm looking forward to what's ahead."

The cancellations land the same week Batiste is releasing three new albums, Black Mozart, Monk Meditations and Monk Movements, his ongoing series of piano-centric records reworking classical and jazz repertoire. Despite the canceled dates, Batiste, 39, is still scheduled to play remaining tour stops including Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Atlanta and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, with the tour currently set to close at Berkeley's Greek Theatre on October 3.

"Thank you for your understanding and continued support," Batiste said in the statement. "I truly can't wait to come back and perform for you soon." A representative for Batiste did not immediately respond to requests for further comment on the cancellations.

Batiste won album of the year at the 2022 Grammy Awards for his 2021 record We Are, and beyond his years as bandleader on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he composed original music for the soundtrack of Disney's 2020 animated film Soul.
