Josh Levi has released a new single, "SWERVE," with a companion video, SoulBounce reported August 5. Levi and producer Jack Rochon build the song around an insistent kick drum and rumbling synth bass, with lyrics about a woman who drives him wild with desire.
Levi made his debut album, HYDRAULIC, last year and kept the momentum going in 2026 by headlining his own Hydraulic Tour and playing the Essence Festival of Culture. "SWERVE" is his first new release of the year, within the R&B and soul sound that carried HYDRAULIC.
Levi leans on driving metaphors throughout the song, describing a temptation to touch her all over as the temperature rises, with his hands "at 10 and 2" on her hips. He turns more direct on the hook, singing, "Why you drive me, drive me crazy? Go ahead, baby, ooh, swerve my way, please."
The video leans into the driving theme, with Levi and two dancers cutting up at what appears to be a raceway, showcasing the dance steps and physicality that have become part of his stage persona.
"SWERVE" arrives as talk builds of a deluxe edition of HYDRAULIC later this year, though SoulBounce reports no release date has been set. The single lands on the release calendar as Levi's first drop since the album that introduced him.
