Kardinal Offishall has set September 25 as the release date for his new album, Firestarter Vol. 2: Everyday, Sometimes..., ending months of teasing the project.
The Canadian hip-hop veteran shared the news on Instagram alongside a promise that the lead single, "Kiss Me When I," featuring Glenn Lewis, will land September 4. He posted a snippet of the slow jam paired with a video of a couple kissing.
The single follows a string of tracks Kardinal has released this summer, including "Where There's Smoke" and "My Brother's Keeper Part 2," the latter featuring NESTA, as he built toward the full album.
Firestarter Vol. 2 serves as a sequel to Kardinal's 2001 debut, Quest for Fire: Firestarter Vol. 1, a connection he had already flagged in an interview with Exclaim! for the magazine's September print issue before confirming the release date.
The album adds to a busy year for the rapper, who has kept a steady release schedule of singles ahead of the full release.
