Kneecap have announced a world tour named after their album Fenian, and the routing is the largest the Belfast rap trio have attempted. It opens at Pabellon Oeste in Mexico City on 15 October, weeks after their run at Reading and Leeds, and works through Latin America before turning back toward Europe.

The opening leg takes in Bonfire in Bogota on 17 October, C Art Media in Buenos Aires on 19 October, Club Chocolate in Santiago on 21 October and a Sao Paulo date on 23 October. That is an unusual way to start a campaign for a group from Northern Ireland, and it says something about where the audience for the record has landed.

November moves the tour across mainland Europe, starting at Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette on 6 November and passing through Brussels, Stockholm, Oslo, Malmo, Copenhagen, Gdansk, Groningen, Tilburg, Amsterdam, Paris, Lausanne, Milan, Florence and Geneva before crossing to Britain.

The UK and Ireland stretch begins at the O2 Guildhall Southampton on 28 November and continues through Bristol, Wolverhampton, Manchester, Newcastle, Hull, Swansea, Glasgow, Liverpool, Bradford and Nottingham. It ends at Dublin's 3Arena on 16 December, a homecoming of sorts at the largest indoor room on the island.

The booking follows a strong reception for both the album and the live show. NME awarded the group four and a half stars for their Reading set on 30 August, describing a show with the spirit of a lock-in and the production to match, and gave Fenian the same rating, calling it a spraypainted brick wall of consistency.

Tickets for the whole run go on sale on 4 September at 10am BST. Kneecap have spent the past two years turning political controversy into ticket demand, and the size of this routing is the clearest measure yet of how far that has carried them in hip-hop and well outside it. The full list of dates is on the tour guide.
