Krewella release a single called the blueprint

It's their fourth single since returning from a hiatus after 2022's The Body Never Lies.

Krewella, the Chicago-born sister duo Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf, released the blueprint on August 7, EDM.com reported, the latest preview of a larger project still to come, out on their own Mixed Kids Records imprint.

The track pairs Krewella's vocals with a hard-dance cadence, moving through glitchy fragments and euphoric drops into a drum and bass finale, and nods to the duo's 2013 debut album Get Wet and its platinum single Alive. The lyrical hook drives the point home: "You are more than a remix, baby, you're the original."

"The blueprint is an ode to the ones who embark on the lonely journey of going places no one has ever gone," the duo said in a statement, describing themselves as "holding the torch for everyone following" with a closing section that blends "classic breaks, transient bass plucks, and unexpected elements."

It's the fourth single Krewella has released this year since returning from an extended hiatus following 2022's The Body Never Lies, and it follows the melodic techno track Something Sacred.

The duo is set to play Excision's Lost Lands festival this fall alongside a string of headline shows across the US and UK.
