Le Guess Who? has confirmed the full lineup for its 20th anniversary edition, which returns to Utrecht from 5 to 8 November. The final wave fills in a bill that already carried guest curators aja monet, KMRU, Los Thuthanaka and Tropical Fuck Storm, alongside Yasuaki Shimizu, Dirty Three, Ibex Band, Lillian Allen and Angeles Toledano.
Among the new names is Nirosta Steel, the singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who was a frequent collaborator of Arthur Russell, and Martina Camargo, the Colombian singer-songwriter. Cellist and composer Okkyung Lee brings gyeol, a project setting Korean traditional instrumentation against experimental improvisation and avant-garde composition.
The festival has also added Pitch, Pigeon, Puerta, a multi-disciplinary performance from producer Kelman Duran with artistic researcher and composer AGF, movement artist Kiani del Valle and visual artist Theresa Baumgartner.
Monet's curated programme picks up three further acts. Shadia Mansour, the Palestinian MC, singer and producer, is on it, as is Cody ChesnuTT, who presents a new project called MAKING SCIENCE SIMPLE after a thirty-three year hiatus. Alsarah & The Nubatones complete that strand with an East African retro-pop set drawing on Nubian songs of return, modern migration and the exchange between Sudan and Egypt.
The anniversary brings extra programming with it. 24 HOUR DUB runs continuously from 4pm on Saturday 7 November to 4pm on Sunday 8 November at KABUL a GoGo in Utrecht, with The Bug vs Ghost Dubs, CARISTA and Greentea Selecta among the previously announced names on it.
Remaining day passes are on sale, while Friday passes and four-day passes have sold out. The bill leans hard on the experimental and avant-garde end of indie programming, and the November weekend is logged on the festival tracker.
