Liim sets his second album for August 28

Liim has announced his second album, A Sunflower Garden In Harlem, continued as Is Hard To Find, due August 28 via Three Times Louder, alongside a new single and video, "1980," featuring fellow New York rapper AJRadico.

"1980" is a retro-styled throwback to Eric B. & Rakim, drawing on the films Paid In Full and Juice. "Paid In Full and Juice are just two movies that are where I'm from," Liim said. "I grew up in almost every scene, and I think what those movies do for me is they spike memories."

Liim traces the album to his upbringing at Grant Houses on 125th Street in Harlem, describing it as a chronicle of near-death experiences, life lessons and a pursuit of self-discovery beyond the expectations that came with growing up there; his sound draws together hip-hop, soul and alternative textures around that songwriting.

The new album follows Liim's debut, Liim Lasalle Loves You, by about ten months, itself preceded by early singles "Pupils," featuring Opraah, and "Regista Gyal" in 2022. Pitchfork called it his "second album in the space of a year," underscoring how quickly Liim has been working since his debut.

"1980" follows two earlier singles from the album, "R.I.P Peace" and "Is Loving Really Bad?," capping a busy first half of 2026 for Liim. The album marks a steady rise for Liim inside New York hip-hop, and will join the rest of the fall's releases on the release calendar.
