Lucky Daye links up with Leon Thomas on the new single 'Fly U Out'

Lucky Daye has released a new single, "Fly U Out," featuring fellow Grammy winner Leon Thomas, out now via Warner Records. Built on misty acoustic guitars, a deep low end and hushed percussion, the song plays as a conversation between two people who miss each other across distance.

Daye is a Grammy-winning R&B singer, songwriter and producer known for blending modern R&B with the genre's live-band, soul-rooted traditions. Thomas, also a Grammy winner, brings his own multi-hyphenate resume as a singer, actor and producer to the duet.

Daye opens the track with a direct ask, singing, "All of these texts ain't enough, all of these pictures." Thomas answers with hesitation, singing that his partner is "all about me, but you ain't mine," leaving the relationship's future open.

"Fly U Out" is the second single from Daye's upcoming album, following "Nowhere Fast," a D'Mile-produced track that marked his first release since signing to Warner Records. The new song arrives during an active stretch for Daye, who has recently featured on songs with Chris Brown, Teyana Taylor, Alessia Cara and Tori Kelly, and who joined Ms. Lauryn Hill for a D'Angelo tribute at this year's Grammy Awards. He won his second Grammy, for Best Traditional R&B Performance, in 2025 for "That's You," off his album Algorithm, and has been nominated 13 times across his own records and his songwriting for other artists, including Mary J. Blige.

Daye is set to headline Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Live in Brooklyn on September 10, one of his biggest live showcases of the year as he builds toward the new album's release.
