Maryland Deathfest has announced a third wave of artists for its 2027 edition, headlined among the new additions by YOB, Anaal Nathrakh and Exumer, Metal Injection reported on August 8. The full round of new names also includes Benighted, Blood Vial, Brodequin, Devangelic, Grave Infestation, Guineapig, Lamp of Murmuur, Lucifer, Mortal Wound, Replicant and Ruby the Hatchet.
Maryland Deathfest is now in its 22nd year and has built a reputation as one of the top extreme metal events in North America. The 2027 edition runs May 27-30 across multiple Baltimore venues, including the Market Place, Power Plant Live, Nevermore Hall, Baltimore Soundstage and Angels Rock Bar, with a pre-fest set on May 26.
The new names join a bill that already includes Candlemass, Autopsy marking 40 years together, Voivod playing old school deep cuts and Insect Warfare celebrating the 20th anniversary of its album World Extermination.
The festival's run of full-album and anniversary sets, one of its signature draws over the years, also grows with this wave: Akercocke will perform their "Choronzon" set, Exhumed will run through "Gore Metal" in full, Enslaved will revisit "Vikingligr Veldi" and The Kovenant will play "Nexus Polaris" start to finish.
Metal Injection reported that fewer than 100 four-day passes remained at the time of its report, with single-day and VIP tickets expected to go on sale in late August or early September. Organizers said more bands are still to be announced. It's the latest addition to the festival tracker and our metal coverage.
