Metrika releases the single P0RN0 from her coming album La Orden

Metrika has released P0RN0, another piece of the story she is building around La Orden, the album she has not yet dated. Rolling Stone en Espanol has the behind-the-scenes footage from the video shoot as an exclusive, provided by Universal Music Spain.

The single is the third known song from the album, which already includes a collaboration with SINAKA. The Valencian artist, who works under the nickname vampibimbo, has been releasing these in sequence as chapters rather than as standalone tracks, and each one has been darker than the last.

The song itself sits in the alternative urban sound she has made her own, and the lyric turns on what the magazine describes as a lethal combination of obsession and desire. That is a narrower subject than most singles claim, and it is consistent with an album being written as a narrative.

The video is where the concept becomes literal. Victor Marin directed it, and it places the character Metrika calls the Madre Fundadora in a psychiatric hospital, admitted and left under observation. Her demonias muñecas arrive to keep her company, and the psychiatrist watching her nearly loses his own sanity to whatever she is.

Marin is not new to this world. He was technical director on the visuals for DEMONIAS MUÑECAS and CONTACTO CONTACTO, two earlier pieces of the same run, so the continuity between the clips is by design rather than coincidence.

Building an album as an unfolding story with recurring characters is an unusual amount of structure for a singles campaign, and it is the thing that separates her from the rest of the Spanish urban scene. Until La Orden gets a date, P0RN0 and the footage behind it are the only new evidence of where it is going. It will be listed on the release calendar with the rest of the latin and pop announcements once a date exists.
