London club Ministry of Sound plans a weekend-long 35th anniversary party

Ministry of Sound will mark its 35th anniversary with a weekend-long party at its home in Elephant and Castle, London, running Friday, October 2 through Saturday, October 3. The club is billing the event as a "landmark" celebration built around artists who have shaped its dancefloor over more than three decades.

Friday night belongs to the club's long-running Louder party, headlined by drum and bass artist Andy C, who returns to Ministry of Sound for the first time in ten years with a three-hour set. Saturday opens in the daytime with Hard Times, pairing house veterans Kerri Chandler and Moodymann for an extended back-to-back performance, before the evening's Urge party closes the weekend with a headline set from Loco Dice; Ministry of Sound said more names would be announced.

"Few venues get to celebrate 35 years at the heart of dance music," Ministry of Sound club director Matt Long said. He added that the anniversary lineup was built to reflect "both our heritage and where our sound is today," and that the club could not wait to celebrate "with you all."

Alongside the party, Ministry of Sound is publishing a book, Ministry of Sound: Anthology, charting more than three decades of the club's history, from its live-streamed talent competition Boxed In through to the food and music experience housed inside its recently renovated space today.

Ministry of Sound has not yet named the additional artists joining Loco Dice for Saturday's Urge party, and tickets for the full weekend are on sale now through the club's website.
