MNEK has put out the video for "Muscle Marys..," directed by Ben Galster, and used the release to reveal the cover art and tracklist for his album BULLDOZER!!
The record arrives on September 18. It has been trailed by the singles "REVERSE!!" and "OH NO!! ALL THE BOYS!!," both of which sit near the front of the running order.
The new single is the quieter one. The Grammy and BRIT Award nominee said he wrote it about body image and what he feels a lot of men of a certain size deal with without always knowing how to articulate it. "This song is me figuring it out," he said, calling it one of his favourite songs he has put out and a more vulnerable side of the album's world.
The tracklist runs to 11 songs, opening on "REVERSE!!" and closing on "CALIFORNIA..," with "THE WALL!!," "LADY!!," "GARGANTUAN!!," "MUSCLE MARYS..," "WANNA BE WANTED!!," "LUST!!," "DIRTY LITTLE SECRET!!" and "WORLD DOESN'T HAVE TO BE SUCH A SCARY PLACE!!" in between.
It has been a long wait. BULLDOZER!! is the follow-up to 2018's Language, an eight-year gap in which MNEK has mostly been heard through other people's records as a writer and producer.
The album and the video are logged on the release calendar with the rest of the pop, electronic and R&B and soul autumn, a September that has also brought a fifth album from Sam Smith.
