Neighbourhood Weekender has named its 2027 bill, with Paul Heaton and The Reytons co-headlining the Saturday and Courteeners closing the festival on the Sunday night. The event returns to Victoria Park in Warrington over the bank holiday weekend of May 29 and 30, 2027.

Heaton plays with guest vocalist Rianne Downey. He recently released Jenius, his 23rd album, produced by Ian Broudie, and it gave him his first solo Number One. The Reytons arrive off the back of their own chart run: A Love Letter To A Broken Town took them to Number One a second time without any mainstream radio support.

Courteeners headlined the first Neighbourhood Weekender in 2018 and came back in 2022, so the Sunday slot is familiar ground. They played to 30,000 at Wythenshawe Park in Manchester on August 29 and have a six-date UK arena tour in November, including their first headline show at London's Alexandra Palace.

The Saturday bill also carries Kingfishr, The Vaccines, The Fratellis, Gabrielle, Badly Drawn Boy, Seb Lowe, The Clause, Keyside, The Clone Roses, The North, Dea Matrona, Strata, Kate Couriel and Mel Raeburn. Sunday brings The Royston Club, The Coral, The View, Professor Green, The Sherlocks, The Covasettes, The Molotovs, The Cheap Thrills, Girl In The Year Above, Cherryholt, Esmeralda Road, Pastel and GIRLBAND!

Rick Astley plays a home town set, having been born in Warrington. His last surprise appearance was with Blossoms at Tramlines, where he joined them for their collaboration Joke About Divorce.

The Sunday also hosts the festival's first Hacienda Presents takeover, with DJ sets from former Hacienda resident Graeme Park and K-Klass, which is the closest this bill gets to leaving guitar music behind.

Practical changes follow feedback from last year. The Neighbourhood Inn returns, tickets for children aged 10 and under go on sale for the first time, under-fives will not be admitted, and every under-16 must be with an adult over 18, with a maximum of two children's tickets per adult.

Tickets go on general sale at 9.30am on Friday September 4, with a local pre-sale for WA1 to WA5 postcodes from 9.30am on Wednesday September 2. This year's edition was led by Richard Ashcroft, Blossoms, DMA'S and Kaiser Chiefs, with Shed Seven, Jamie Webster, The K's, Razorlight and Sophie Ellis-Bextor also on it. The 2027 bill sits alongside the rest of next summer's indie and rock bookings on the festival tracker.
