Neurosis reunited for an 80-minute headline set on the second night of Fire In The Mountains 2026, held at the Red Eagle Campground near East Glacier National Park in Montana. Firekeeper Alliance director Charlie Speicher introduced the band as honored guests before they took the stage, and the reunited group, now including new member Aaron Turner, played nineties tracks "Lost" and "Times of Grace" alongside six songs from their new album An Undying Love for a Burning World.

Fire In The Mountains is hosted for the second year running with the Blackfeet Nation, drawing 3,500 attendees from around the world for four days of history, culture and live music. The festival opened with a traditional Blackfeet drum and dance ceremony, and Metal Injection says the community built around the event, not just the lineup, defined the weekend.

The reunion had been building for months. Students in a Heavy Metal Music Symposium class run in Browning public schools named Neurosis one of the acts they were most looking forward to, and some of them appeared in a Neurosis music video the band and the Firekeeper Alliance released just ahead of the festival. Steve Von Till, a Firekeeper Alliance board member, has been a visible part of the organization's work throughout.

The Firekeeper Alliance's purpose is preventing suicide and improving wellness in the reservation town of Browning. Speicher told the crowd that heavy music itself functions as one of the "protective factors" that keep people connected: "they're found in places like this. In heavy fucking music."

Organizers have already announced a winter edition of the festival for January 2027 at Estes Park, Colorado, featuring Yob, Subrosa and Wolves in the Throne Room. Neurosis remain one of metal's defining acts three decades into their career.
