A new app called Seen Live, already being described as "Letterboxd for clubbing," lets fans rate DJ sets, gigs and festivals after a night out.
Founded by Tough Luck, the app is pitched as a "personal live music archive" for documenting nightlife. Users can log events they attended, search for club nights and gigs, browse popular live performances, rate shows and share their experiences with others on the platform.
The app's founder said the idea came from losing track of years of nights out. "I built Seen Live because I realised that I couldn't remember half of the artists and DJs I'd seen live after a while," they told Mixmag, adding that old photos and videos were scattered across their camera roll with no context attached. "I wanted one place to look back on everything, a proper archive of every show I'd ever been to."
Beyond individual logging, Seen Live lets users follow friends and other "like-minded" fans, building out a visual archive of photos and videos tied to specific shows and nights. The app is also positioned as a discovery tool, letting users find new artists through reviews written by people who were actually in the room.
The app joins a small but growing category of social tools built around live electronic music and clubbing culture, aiming to give fans a permanent record of nights that would otherwise fade into scattered camera roll clips.
