Numero Group is reissuing Gigi Masin's 1986 ambient album Wind to mark its 40th anniversary, The Quietus reported on August 13. The new pressing comes in both black 180g and colour vinyl editions, with a faithful reproduction of the original cover and a two-sided insert including a hand-written note.
A digital release will also include five previously unheard bonus tracks drawn from the same recording sessions that produced the original album, including "Silver Wheel."
Masin originally pressed Wind privately, releasing it only at a handful of small concerts in 1986 as he built a name in Italy's underground electronic and ambient scenes, and it gained cult status only after DJs and diggers rediscovered it years later.
Some of Wind's tracks, along with other Masin material, later appeared on the 2014 compilation Talk To The Sea, released by Music From Memory, and Masin reissued Wind himself the following year on his own label, The Bear On The Moon. The Numero Group edition, due October 30, is described as the most complete reissue of the record to date.
Wind sits within electronic and the release calendar on MusicSuey.
